North Little Rock Charms Its Visitors With Arts and Leisure
Across the Arkansas River, the City of North Little Rock shines with its own attractions. In fact, its Argenta Arts District has distinguished itself as the region’s epicenter for entertainment.
For a fun night on the town, catch an Arkansas Travelers baseball game at Dickey-Stephens Park, experience big-name acts like Paul McCartney, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift at Verizon Arena, or share laughs at The Joint’s comedy theater. Take the whole family to explore the World War II-era USS Razorback submarine at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, and enjoy one of the largest city parks in the country – Burns Park. This 1,700-acre escape offers everything from tennis and golf to soccer and baseball. North Little Rock is also home to the Old Mill, a historic recreation of an 1880s water-powered gristmill that was featured in the opening scenes of the 1939 classic “Gone With the Wind.”
McCain Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in North Little Rock, leads to the city’s largest shopping hub—McCain Mall and Lakewood Village. The mall is home to the usual suspects like Old Navy and Dillard’s, and just beyond its parking lot are big box retailers like Target.
Some of Arkansas’ most popular restaurants call North Little Rock home. Diners can have it all—from craft beer at Flyway Brewing and the Arkansas Ale House to fine dining at Riverfront Steakhouse and Ristorante Capeo. Plus, Santo Coyote, Benihana, Taziki’s and U.S. Pizza Co. are especially popular with the locals.
