The Ottenheimer Market Hall in the River Market houses several great restaurants and is a favorite lunch spot among locals.

Perched atop the southern bank of the Arkansas River, downtown’s views are as engaging as the wide variety of activities you’ll find there. From museums and theaters, to parks and shops, there’s something different around every corner. Hop on the METRO Streetcar for a sightseeing tour and to get the lay of the land.

Hop on and off the METRO Streetcar to get to and from downtown’s popular attractions and restaurants.

Then check out fresh produce, Arkansas-made items and delicious food in the River Market, stroll through the permanent and touring exhibits at the Clinton Presidential Center and entertain the children for hours at the renowned Museum of Discovery, frequently featured on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The museum’s director of guest experiences is the official “Tonight Show” science expert.

In 2016, the city debuted its million renovation of the historic Robinson Center, which is home to symphony and Broadway performances year-round.

The Old State House was the state’s first capitol building.

Revitalized Main Street and SoMa districts boast new restaurants and shops in downtown, and the Quapaw Quarter features the city’s oldest and most historic homes and structures. There you’ll find the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, the Arkansas Arts Center and the Esse Purse Museum.

For food, the options are endless. Try fine dining at Cache; savor farm-to-table at @ the Corner (and don’t miss their brunch); enjoy live music at Willy D’s, drink craft beer at Damgoode or Rebel Kettle, and order mouth-watering pizza at Gusano’s. You can even tour the nearby Rock Town Distillery or sample fare from popular food trucks.

Explore Little Rock’s oldest structure at the Historic Arkansas Museum located in the heart of downtown.
